The after-life label
In Britain people throw away 7m tonnes of food and drink each year, costing the food industry £5bn. Binning perfectly good food because of the ‘sell by date’ is a big part of this.
The ‘afterlife’ label is a biodegradable tag that is attached to certain foods. It shows people how ingredients can be transformed into new dishes after the sell by date.
Stale bread is perfect for breadcrumbs (which can be frozen) or makes a lovely bread & butter pudding.
Old veg can be used in pies or smoothies.
With this extra knowledge people won’t throw food out and will save some dollar too.
Originally a spec idea for Morrisons but they were unable to do it in 2018. We're currently approaching smaller stores to see if we can make it happen.
